Member Action Update - Day 3

2/15/2023

Dear Member,

Your pay award has now been delayed for 198 days, during which time the cost of living has continued to increase, and the UK economy teeters on the brink of a recession.  The lack of a pay award continues to impact us all during these difficult economic times.  That’s why it’s important that we continue to stand firm and make it clear that continued delays in implementing your pay award cannot be tolerated.

Members have told us that they regularly take their NCA issued laptops and smartphones home at the end of the day, charge them from their home electricity supply, and use them out of hours for no recompense - just to ‘get the job done’.  As part of your withdrawal of goodwill, you may want to consider locking your NCA devices away in the office and leaving them there at the end of the day, so you can pick them up again next time you’re on duty, rather than spending more of your own time, working, for free, while you haven’t received the pay award to which you are entitled.

Tomorrow, the NCOA will be attending a scheduled pay meeting with your employer. If there are any major developments with regards to the absent 2022/23 pay award, we will of course let you know as soon as we can.

Thank you for your continued support.
