Civil Service Pension transition to CAPITA

1/14/2026

There is little doubt that the transition from MyCSP to CAPITA of CS Pensions has not gone smoothly.

The NCOA has now met with the Cabinet Office who confirm that since the transition in December there has been unprecedented use of the CAPITA pension portal which has affected its functionality, as a result there has been a significant increase in the use of the telephone enquiry line which has resulted in significant wait times.

Having spoken to the Cabinet Office, it is also possible that some enquires lodged with MyCSP prior to December 2025 were not actioned.

We have now been advised by the Cabinet Office that it is anticipated that the CAPITA portal will be fully functional by the end of February 2026.

In the interim if you have a pension query, members should register on the CAPITAL portal (if they have not done so already) and then lodge your enquiry.

In the next few days CAPITA will also be sending our further guidance to those CS Pension members who are unable to register on the portal.

In addition, the NCOA have requested that the NCA consider varying its guidance so that officers considering retirement lodge their request for a pension forecasts at least 6 months prior to their proposed retirement date and the NCA develop a contingency plan for any officer due to retire on ill health grounds and has not received confirmation of their pension prior to retirement.
